Account Director – Healthcare Communications Agency

Our client, a leading healthcare marketing/communication agency, is looking for an Account Director who’s passionate about digital media and healthcare advertising. Position is homebased in the GTA and reporting to the VP of Business Development. (Highly competitive compensation package (base salary plus performance-related pay (85-125,000$) based on sales achievements) and all benefits.)

Responsibilities Include

Responsible for a book of business generating new business from existing accounts and for the development of new accounts.

Promoting agency’s services in a consultative approach to marketing and CME people from the pharma industry via face-to-face meetings, phone call and virtual (e.g., cold calling, presentations, RFP’s, email, video conferencing, etc.).

Effectively deliver the company story and value proposition, becoming an expert on capabilities, service offerings, and lines of business.

Upsell current clients in current and new products.

Cultivate relationships with clients to gain deep insight into their business and ultimately provide solutions for their marketing and advertising goals.

Education, experience, & qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree.

A solid understanding of account planning/strategic planning in a healthcare advertising agency and/or pharma company.

MUST HAVE 3+ years of experience with Canadian pharmaceutical marketing and sales either with a pharma company or an agency dealing with the Canadian pharmaceutical industry. Excellent negotiation skills and successful quota-carrying needed.

Has proven the ability to successfully manage your own book of accounts in the profitable production of revenue opportunities.

Ability to navigate corporate structures to identify decision-makers and determine the buying process.

You have strong organization skills and show great attention to detail.

You possess a high level of integrity, professionalism, excellent customer service and organizational skills.

Enthusiastic learner with superior creative, problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.

Strong team player with innovative ideas who can partner with others (internal and external) to achieve objectives as well as the ability to work autonomously.

Ability to learn quickly and think quickly.
